Last month, we experienced a false fire alarm on two separate
occasions. We reached out to Liu to see if he could help us identify what was triggering the alarm and determine how to resolve the issue. Without hesitation, Liu immediately stepped in, coordinated with the contractors, and arranged for someone to come to our home and inspect the problem. They ultimately identified the faulty alarm and replaced it at no cost to us.

What makes this experience even more meaningful is that our home was already outside the standard one-year builder’s warranty. Nevertheless, Attitash Builders did not hesitate to help. Liu took ownership of the issue, made sure it was resolved quickly, and continued to follow up with us to make sure everything was working properly.

Liu also goes the extra mile by checking in with us from time to time to see how things are going in our home. That level of care and follow-through really stands out.

Our experience has shown us that Attitash Builders genuinely cares about its homeowners and values long-term relationships rather than simply viewing the home purchase as a transaction. We chose our home at 21 Fayette Street mainly because of the excellent location, and it has truly been a great decision for our family.
I first became familiar with Attitash Home Builders in April 2025, when the house was still under construction. My agent, Anthony, brought me to see the property, and Mr. Nazar personally walked me through the structure, layout, and construction process. He explained everything clearly, which helped me understand the quality of the materials and workmanship.
The house was completed and delivered in late 2025. After moving in, we experienced a few minor issues, which is normal for a new home. However, whenever something came up, Nazar was always responsive and arranged his team to help us promptly.
One example that stood out was during the colder season. There was an advanced system in the house that kept making noise, and we were concerned that something might be wrong. Since we were not familiar with the equipment, we were afraid to touch it. After I mentioned this together with the heating issue, Nazar responded quickly and arranged for a technician to come the next day. The technician checked everything and adjusted the system properly, which gave us great peace of mind.This really showed how much they care about their customers and how they try to make things easy and worry-free for homeowners.
I would also like to especially thank Dimitri. He was extremely helpful not only with paperwork and closing documents, but also with construction-related questions. He was always patient, friendly, and quick to respond, which made the entire process much smoother. My agent Anthony was also professional and reliable.
My wife and I are very happy living in this home. When she is happy, our whole family is happy. We truly enjoy our life here.

After spending the last year building my dream home with Avatar Construction, I can confidently say they were the right choice for my custom build. Let me break down my experience for anyone considering a new home build:

THE TIMELINE: One of my non-negotiables was completing the build within 12 months, which many builders said wasn't realistic. Avatar not only committed to this timeline but delivered, skillfully managing the complex scheduling of trades and materials even during challenging supply chain times.

THE TEAM: Both Jims (yes, there are two - the project manager and site supervisor) were instrumental in the success of this project. The project manager Jim was particularly adept at finding creative solutions when we hit inevitable budget challenges, while site supervisor Jim kept the day-to-day operations moving. Being a custom build, I was extensively involved and on-site frequently - sometimes more than the site supervisor - and they welcomed my engagement rather than seeing it as an intrusion.

SUBCONTRACTORS: Here's where things get interesting - some of Avatar's subs were absolutely phenomenal, true craftsmen who took pride in their work. Others required more oversight and guidance to meet expectations. This variability is probably my main constructive feedback to Avatar - maintaining consistent subcontractor quality could be improved. However, when any issues arose, Avatar was quick to address them.

BUDGET & CHANGES: Let's be real - building a custom home means change orders. While nobody loves paying markup on changes (which was clearly outlined in the contract), the project manager worked tirelessly with me to balance these costs. Sometimes we found savings in other areas to offset increases, showing their commitment to working within my overall budget constraints where possible.

POST-COMPLETION SERVICE: This is where Avatar truly shines. Months after moving in, they're still working with me to perfect minor paint details and finishing touches. This level of follow-through is rare in construction and speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction.

TIPS FOR FUTURE BUILDERS:
- Be prepared to be involved; custom builds require engagement
- Understand your contract thoroughly, especially regarding change orders
- Budget for unexpected costs - they're inevitable in custom construction
- Document everything, but maintain a collaborative rather than adversarial relationship
- Be present on-site as much as possible

Would I recommend Avatar? Absolutely. Are they perfect? No, but they're transparent about their processes, committed to their timelines, and genuinely care about delivering your vision. For anyone planning to build a custom home, remember: you want a builder who will work WITH you, not just FOR you - and that's exactly what Avatar provides.

The end result is everything I dreamed of, and while the journey had its challenges (as any custom build does), Avatar's professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction made them the ideal partner for this massive undertaking. When we decided to buy land in 2021, we met with a few architects and builders who left us feeling uneasy/confused and unsure of what to do. We had seen and admired several Attitash Builders homes, and from the first day we met, we were certain they were the right choice. They offered great consultation and building approach with us and recommended an architect who very quickly turned our wish list into a design we were very happy with.

Then we created a contract that was detailed and fair, and took care of every detail for the building of our home.

Jim and Brian are such skilled craftsman, they took our vision and executed it with the highest level of care and attention to detail. Brian  worked with all of his subcontractors to build our dream home, despite a few hiccups along the way, like unexpected levels of stone ledge that took more time and money than anyone expected, as well as mid-pandemic supply chain issues and sub staffing challenges. When there were questions on site Jim or Brian was always there to explain what the issue was and what the options were. It’s no joke that building a home takes about a million decisions!

Other staff was always available to answer questions or offer any advice to better stream the design or execution. Nazar made it easy to set up and manage the financial side of the project, which was no small task. From the start, and even now after we’ve moved in, he made us truly feel like a friend, and we are profoundly grateful.

We recommend these guys as our trusted experts for fine home building. They’ll ensure things are done to the highest standard, and you’ll move into a home that exceeds your expectations.
